T.R.U.E. Jamaica Aid is an initiative of the Rising Sun Development Center focused on disaster recovery and long-term resilience for communities across Jamaica. Rooted in the principle of Tallawah—strength and perseverance, the initiative mobilizes resources, partnerships, and people to help families rebuild with dignity, stability, and hope after repeated natural disasters.
Our approach bridges immediate humanitarian relief with sustainable, community-led development—ensuring families are supported not only in crisis, but in their journey toward permanency.
To support families impacted by hurricanes and natural disasters by delivering immediate relief, strengthening local partnerships, and building long-term housing and preparedness solutions that empower communities for generations to come.
Phase One addresses urgent needs through the collection and distribution of food, clean water, medical supplies, and essential household items. At the same time, we establish trusted partnerships, assess land for future development, and build the infrastructure necessary for transparent, sustainable impact.
Phase Two transitions families from relief to stability through the development of a self-sustaining village. This phase focuses on permanent, hurricane-resilient housing, solar energy, water and sanitation systems, food security, and disaster preparedness—empowering families to withstand future storms and thrive long-term.
